Okay so I made this site specifically because of scratch being unfair with their rules(I've broken only one which was violence or something)their motto is "Imagine,Create,Share" but only the first 2 are true! You can Imagine what you want, create what you want but you CAN'T SHARE WHAT YOU WANT! And this is a total kick in their OWN ASS,this displays them as nothing but a toy so after doing some research I found an easy method to turn Scratch 1.4 games into .exe files and upload them that's gonna be below along with some rules for this forum(which is like 2)I want to show that the GUI interface can be a serious way to make games the motto for this site is "Imagine what you want,Code what you want,Share what you want!"
How to upload games!
This is a SUPER easy thing to do actually (WARNING Scratch 2.0 projects are very, very,VERY unstable in this whole process and is NOT recommended and wont be covered unless asked!)
You're going to need 2 things for this one is a Media fire account and the other is a custom version of Scratch called BYOB(Build.your.own.blocks)3.1,which is pretty much Scratch 1.4 BUT ON SOME SERIOUS STEROIDS Links below
Mediafire:
mediafire.com/
BYOB3.1 :
snap.berkeley.edu/old-byob.html
Step 1:making your game!
This is done in BYOB just like in scratch 1.4 in fact you can even make your game in SCRATCH 1.4 then just open it in BYOB!
After your game is done up top you should see a Share option click on it and a few more options should come up,click on compile this project. This brings up a compiling processes that turns your game into a standalone .exe file NO scratch No internet 100% independent, move the file shown on to your desktop, after that's done go to step 2!
Step 2:Uploading your game!
For this you'll need a Mediafire account(Link above)"WARNING:you'll get something asking you to download mediafire offline you don't need this" once its made click on upload,2 options should come up click "upload from computer" then click on the game .exe we put on the desktop in step 1 after a few minutes(depending on file size and internet speed) it should be done and give you the option to copy the download link "MAKE SURE THE FILE IS PUBLIC" hold on the the download link for step 3!
Step 3:Sharing on IndieBlocks!
after that's done go to our General projects board and some sub boards will come up for different genres of games! Click on the respective Genre that depicts your game or other if it doesn't fit any paste you Mediafire download link and some info about your game be very descriptive about your game so people know if they want to play it try to make something like this:
Title: Mcdonalds Stickup
Gameplay: a little topdown shooter I made in my free time
How you play?:Just kill all the customers in Mcdonalds with you spas12
Download link: www.mediafire.com/download/l84wj4u15rxb8f8/Mcdonalds+stickup.exe
Creators notes/comments:Feel Free to give me your thoughts
Now from the description alone you can see that's definitely not something scratch would allow and that's our whole point! Are whole purpose isn't to make stuff stupid and inappropriate we just don't feel we should cap creativity to be age appropriate!
Warnings about downloading!
1.Make sure the file looks similar to the one I put above and not sketchy!
2.Your Norton is gonna go off when testing this happened to all my friends but my one friend Justin went with it anyways and he said it worked 100% fine and virus free Hes my favorite test monkey BTW
Forum Rules
1.NO SPAM don't make more than 1 thread for 1 game and false downloads will be taken down
2.Don't be an Ass I mean you can be a little one just not an unlikable piece of shit
Hope this helped have fun!
